If you fancy a two week (approx) trip from Oban to Brixham aboard our sailing partners, Trinity Sailing’s Mule class trawler Provident, then look no further. She is currently in Oban and needs a crew to help bring her back to Brixham, the cost is TBC but will just be to cover food and fuel costs.
For those of you who have sailed with us and seen these beautiful boats out on the water, this is a serious opportunity to gain 500 miles and also have the experience of a lifetime aboard a ‘Classic’ sailing trawler.
Contact Trinity Sailing direct, mention that you saw this on the Brixham Sea school site and you will have a very good chance of getting on this trip.
These places will go pretty quickly so don’t delay in contacting us them.
Their email is email@example.com
Congrats have to go to Alan, Billy, Matt, David and Spike for completing their RYA Ocean theory course this last week. During the week you could hear cogs grinding, there was the odd look of bemusement but with our instructor giving them a clear explanations and examples they all passed on saturday.
Alan, Billy and Matt will be rowing across the Atlantic in 2013 so required a complete suite of courses to be allowed by the authorities of Spain to be able to leave their terratorial waters on their adventure. A big thank you goes out to Lin Diaby who gave up a couple of hours of her holiday to speak to the Rowers about her experience of Rowing the Atlantic, which she did with her good friend Rachel Smith back in 2007 aboard Barbara Ivy.
David works for a company sailing in the Southern Ocean from the Falkland Islands and Spike works where ever it takes him. The Ocean navigation course gives you the skills to be able to navigate the old art of using a sextant to give you your position by using the Sun and stars.
We wish all of them well in their Ocean adventures, if you would like to learn the art of Ocean navigation drop us an email. If your sense of adventure includes Ocean rowing contact us and we can put you in contact with people who have acheived this feat of endurance.
Blog is now fixed, thanks Rob from Evosite! all sorted in no time at all.
It seems the wonderful people at facebook had changed a setting which took all write permissions to our Facebook page off our Blog. So the blogging will commence again.
Once I have found out where Steve is in the Channel I will post up some info.
Thanks again to Rob and Evosite. Probably the best website design company in the UK.
Sorry to our readers about the bland Blogs recently, our Twitter account was hacked and after various password changes etc it managed to screw up our feed to Twitter and Facebook……
The ace techies at Evosite our website designers have been on the case…. THIS is another test post.
To make booking your courses with us we will be rolling out our online booking system over the next few weeks. We will be adding all of our STCW 95, RYA Shorebased and RYA Practical course to the system, some of our additional courses will also be available to book online also.
You will of course still be able speak to us and arrange a course or a package if the courses available on the booking system do not suit what you are after. Once you have selected the course you wish to book you will be taken to our secure online payment page, payments are made through Paypal and will not add any fees to your booking.
We hope that this system makes booking with us easier for you, there may be the odd glitch in it while we are adding to the site so please bear with us.
Apologies if you have been trying to get hold of us over the weekend, unfortunately our domain registration company decided to shut our account on friday evening!!!! So we lost email and the website!
I can confirm that we are now officially online again.
Apologies again, but this one was out of our control.
