RYA Powerboat Level 2
RYA powerboat courses are primarily for those using small powered craft such as RIBs, Day fishing boats and sportsboats that don't generally undertake long or offshore passages.
This two day course will give you all you need to know for self-sufficient powerboating at a basic level. Some of the areas the course includes are launching and recovery, mooring, anchoring and safety precedures plus all the boat driving skills required for basic competence in a powerboat.
Your course will be run on a fully MCA safety coded RIB, this is not a requirement for teaching but carries on with our ethos of offering the best boats and the best quality of training for you. Your course will be run in the lovely sheltered waters of Torbay.
On successful completion of this course you will be able to apply for an International certificate of competence, this is becoming the minimum requirement to be able to charter a sports boat abroad and in the UK. In addition to the ICC you can apply for a Commercial endorsement, allowing you to work in the industry on this type of commercial vessel, up to 24m in length, operating in category 6 waters - that is up to 3 miles from a nominated departure point in fine weather and daylight hours.
If you have experience driving Powerboats but have not taken the PB 2 course then we can also complete your PB 2 as a direct assessment, Call us for details.
If you currently have a Powerboat level 2 Certificate and would like to get an ICC then click the link below to download the application form.
