RYA Coastal Skipper & Yacht Master Theory & Coastal Skipper Practical combined “Master Class”
A comprehensive course covering 9 days and 9 nights on board. This is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology for candidates for the coastal and yachtmaster offshore certificates.
The sylabus makes some provision for the revision of subjects covered in the day skipper course but those who have not acquired the knowledge set out in the day skipper course are unlikely to be able to assimilate all the subjects covered in this advanced course.
The aim of which is to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a cruising yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night.
(Suggested minimum pre course experience 15 days sea time (2 days as skipper), 300 miles and 8 night hours. Navigation and sailing to day skipper standard ).
Under the careful supervision of a yacht master instructor. we only take a maximum of three students per boat. (Four if couples sharing double cabins).
Prices include Breakfast, Lunch, two course evening meals, refreshments throughout the day and any mooring or berthing fees. Both RYA certificates on successful completion, the course consists of 4 classroom days and 5 water based days.
An RYA Sail Cruising scheme logbook is available for purchase separately.
- Clean bedding provided (no sleeping bags required).

- Only best quality food available, where possible localy produced.
- Candidates completing courses that wish to take future courses qualify for a loyalty discount on future bookings.
- No cabin sharing (unless couples) cabin occupancy guaranteed no saloon berthing.
- A non returnable deposit is required on booking of 20% of the total cost.
- Full Payment must be recieved 14 days before course start date.
